Slip and Fall
The “Occupier’s Liability Act” of Ontario codifies the fact that property owners, managers and occupiers are legally responsible for maintaining their property as reasonably safe.
Dangerous conditions resulting in a slip and fall accident can include:
- Absence of handrails/standard assistance devices
- Lack of lighting
- Uneven or poor flooring/carpeting
- Ice or water
- Dangerous stairways
A slip and fall accident is not necessarily a “little accident” – some people have lost limbs or have had brain injuries as a result of a quick and sudden fall.
